Klubb // October Tide + Hamferð + Svartmálm 7 december 2018

OCTOBER TIDE https://www.facebook.com/octobertideband/   October Tide originated with a 1995 demo tape created by Katatonia members Jonas Renkse and Fred Norrman. Much of the material was written during a break-up of Katatonia (which would end up being only temporary). In 1997 the two signed to VIC Records to release their debut, "Rain Without End". In 1999 October Tide would release their second and last album entitled "Grey Dawn" which had Mårten Hansen (of A Canorous Quintet) replacing Renkse on vocal duties. Despite staunchly refusing the notion of future material for an astounding 11 years, October Tide returned in 2009 with "A Thin Shell", a new full-length masterpiece. The album delivers what fans have anxiously awaited from this treasured band. Some weeks during the fall 2012 were spent at Black Lounge studios recording "Tunnel of no Light", October Tide's anticipated fourth album which was released in early 2013. October Tide returned to the road again, meeting the crowd in most of the countries in Europe, with highlights in Moscow, Rome, London and the island of Malta.   HAMFERÐ https://www.facebook.com/Hamferd/   "Hamferð" refers to an apparition: the image of a person facing death, appearing before his or her loved ones as an omen. "Faroese doom metal" is a powerful sound. Exclusive to this self-styled tag is Hamferð. For nearly a decade, the funereally dressed sextet has been casting a unique expression rooted in conceptual tragedy and intense, narrative doom metal.   SVARTMÁLM https://www.facebook.com/svartmalm/   Founded in 2016, Faroese quartet Svartmálm has quietly been causing whispers in musical circles with their select performances. Svartmálm creates ceremonial compositions ranging from abject aggression to atmospheric melancholy. Where the slow majesty of doom is combined with the whirlwind stasis of black and the collective groove is interwined with ambient soundscapes.  The band was formed as an outlet for emotions and thoughts that the members usually do not get to work with in their other projects. Taking on the guises in Svartmálm and operating under the pseudonyms Deyði (vocals, guitar), Pest (guitar, keys), Hungur (bass) & Kríggj (drums) makes possible a different expression which creates a balance within. Elements of black metal culture are combined with elements of Faroese culture. All lyrics are in Faroese and deal with the examination of darkness both historical and present.     Konserten är en del av vårt samarbete med Nordiska kulturfondens projekt Puls, som förbättrar och utvecklar ett kulturellt samarbete mellan artister och kulturaktörer i de olika nordiska länderna.
